I genuinely believe that the world is giving the “wrong” information to 20-somethings. This is not the time to go “safe” and “practical.” This is the time to be massively risk oriented. It’s time to go live in Bali for a year, or try to become Beyonce, or live with 8 roommates in a studio apartment hustling towards your passion. I have empathy for things like student debt … but this is the time to make the high risk moves around the things that’ll make you the happiest, even if you have to work more (or take a night shift job while you focus on your passion during the day). My advice for college grads who are trying to figure it out: Either work for someone who you want to become, or go all in on your own craft.

This keynote started out with a serrrriously fire Q&A - talking about the decision going to university - and how entrepreneurship being on a pedestal forces a view of "you need to be successful by 22".  Then going in to expanding on why I think eSports is going to be such a massively successful industry and what I mean when I say "you need to be making 500 pieces of content".

There's no machine or algorithm to scaling an IG account -  this is one big big theme to this talk, really digging down into making sure you're going about trying to scale / sell your product on Instagram the way that's going to work - sitting down and DMing for awareness. To have a winner’s mentality, you have to stop caring what other people think. You’ve gotta get quiet in your own head.

So many people make big life decisions based on other people’s opinions. You care so much about what your mom, dad, brother, or friends think that you’re allowing them to dictate your actions in life.

At the core of it, the barriers so many people have aren’t really about “money” or “time.” They’re about opinions.

It’s the biggest reason so many people are unhappy right now. Because they value someone else’s opinion more than their own.

Once you get past that, life can get real good. 

Here’s how you can get quiet in your own head:

It's not all private jets & fancy parties & stacks of dollars - being an entrepreneur is hard, it's lonely and it takes time, hard work, energy and sacrifice - and there's a lot of things that you don't hear. Entrepreneurship is cool right now, a bubble and I really hope that in 10 years everyone who thought they could build the business they wanted is gonna end up in the dust. <3

The cannabis industry has massive potential because, as I see it, it's primarily build up of young people and entrepreneurs. Frankly, I'd go as far to as that the cannabis industry is going to make a huge impact in the marketing field because of the upfront restrictions they will face regarding being unable to use Facebook and Instagram ads.

FIRED UP for this keynote I did in the DC area, really honing in on why the internet is such a game changer for modern businesses & entrepreneurship - expanding into what it's like being an entrepreneur during the time that entrepreneurship got cool (now) and how and why it's changed so much over the last 40 years. I also talk directly to the people that think they can't make $100,000 a year, and why I really believe it's so easy now to accomplish this goal. 

I really wanted to share this talk about trusting employees, giving them trust and then learning how they operate from there rather than the traditional "trust is earned" stance. Also, for anyone that is confused, because I'm a very alpha character and I believe that the new "man" is growing in emotional intelligence and "soft skills". Kindness, empathy, and gratitude, which were once considered "soft" are now becoming cool.

This is a really fire mashup revolving around balancing your life & sleep that a lot of you need to hear ... hustling doesn't necessarily mean that you're working 22 hours a day without sleeping - I think sleep is one of the most important things - it matters what you're doing doing those 16 hours that you're awake. I also talk about how I think about "work/life" balance and my methods for keeping what I see as balance.

Fired up to have my long time friend & killer entrepreneur Scott Belsky on the show -  Scott is one of the founders of Behance, and has been involved in a number of other creative endeavors, working with Adobe, Sweetgreen, and other companies.  I sit down and talk with The Eighth, a fairly new retail business attacking the white space they saw in the men's luxury underwear market. Artificial intelligence (AI), artificial general intelligence (AGI), and artificial super intelligence (ASI) are obviously really hot topics right now, but I think there’s a big lack of clarity in the system... I usually hear people mention that AI is going to take our jobs or that it will destroy our economy and force us to use a Universal Basic Income (UBI) as a result, when in actuality, I think it’s going to be a tool that will allow us to become faster and focus on more important tasks. In the same way that people thought tractors would get rid of the jobs of farmers, we actually just got faster and they allowed us to achieve more.

Anyone who follows my content knows that being a salesman is a huge part of who I am, and that I massively respect anyone in the sales game -  this mashup puts together a few tips and tricks that I think are great advice for anyone that is looking to step up their game, or just needs a little help or push in the right direction. <3

Look, the internet has created vast amounts of opportunity, no matter what your foundation is... Frankly, I'm of the mindset that if you have faced adversity that you're actually better off than people who haven't faced adversity because you're hungry and willing to put in the work to get yours.

This throwback is a really, really big one that I'm super pumped to resurface today - I gave a fireside Q&A back in 2016 for LinkedIn, and had them ask me a ton of live questions - talking about the way I perceive myself, the reasons why some people feel pressured into entrepreneurship, or building a business when they should be focused more on being that number 17 guy at Facebook. I hope this helps you learn how to grow a small business. Scaling your company and hiring your first employees can be a little tricky, but if you pay yourself as little as possibly and make hiring your top priority, it will pay itself off, you just have to understand that none of the good stuff will come fast.. you're not going to make a million dollars and chill on a yacht six months into starting your company. Have the mindset that it's going to take you the next 21 years. That's how you'll win.
